German women's track cycling team wins bronze in Shanghai

The German women's track cycling team secured a bronze medal in the team sprint at the World Championships in Shanghai. The trio of Pauline Grabosch, Clara Schneider, and Lea Sophie Friedrich won the bronze medal by defeating a Russian team competing as neutral athletes.

This marks Germany's first World Championship medal in this discipline since 2023. While the women's team saw success, the German men's team failed to medal in both the team sprint and the team pursuit, finishing ninth in the sprint qualification.

Additionally, the German women's pursuit team, including Olympic champions Franziska Brauße, Lisa Klein, and Mieke Kröger alongside Messane Bräutigam, recorded the second-fastest qualifying time and remains in contention for a medal.
