German women's volleyball team swept by Japan at Nations League in Canada

Germany's women's volleyball team suffered a 0‑3 defeat to Japan at the Volleyball Nations League tournament in Quebec, Canada, losing the sets 20‑25, 15‑25 and 24‑26. The defeat was the team's second loss of the week after a 3‑1 win over the host nation and a narrow 2‑3 loss to Ukraine. Captain Camilla Weitzel, who topped Germany’s scoring with 13 points, said the team was "frustrated" and praised Japan’s blocking and defence. The German side will play the United States later in the evening. The Nations League, featuring the world’s top 18 teams, serves as a buildup to the European Championship in August, while the competition’s final knockout stage will be held in China.

The match highlighted the challenges the newly assembled German squad faces in finding rhythm and confidence ahead of the upcoming continental tournament.
