German wrestling federation reports 387 club transfers for 2026 season

The German Wrestling Federation (Deutscher Ringer‑Bund) has recorded 387 club transfers for the 2026 season, involving 194 clubs nationwide. Of these moves, 132 (34.1%) are international, coming from athletes in 32 different countries, with the highest number from Ukraine (16), followed by Armenia, Georgia and Turkey (11 each) and Poland and Romania (10 each).

SC Kleinostheim leads with 14 incoming athletes, sharing the top spot with KSV Witten, which posted 13 arrivals and a net positive balance of 13. Other clubs with strong inbound activity include Rotation Greiz, SV Germania Weingarten and RKG Reilingen‑Hockenheim (12 each). KSV Witten also records the best net gain, while ASV Mainz has the most departures (12) but offsets them with nine arrivals. The transfers affect competition formats differently: 190 moves concern only team events, 20 affect only individual championships, and 177 apply to both.

The data highlights a continued trend of German clubs strengthening squads with foreign talent, as exemplified by KSC Hösbach, where seven of eight new athletes are from abroad, and TV Unterdürrbach, whose four new members all hail from outside Germany.
