German youth football tournaments attract local clubs for charity and competition
The VfB Hüls youth department hosted a benefit tournament on 11 July 2026 at the Badeweiher‑Stadion, featuring 20 E‑Junioren teams from clubs such as FC Marl, TSV Marl‑Hüls and others. Half of the proceeds were pledged to the Glück Auf‑Förderschule in Marl and the other half to the German Bone Marrow Donor Registry.
In a separate event, the DJK Spvgg Herten organized the second edition of the Katzenbusch‑Cup on 7 July 2026. The competition included teams from Herten, Marl, Recklinghausen, Obercastrop and BWW Langenbochum, with matches beginning at 18:15.
Both tournaments highlighted community involvement in youth football across the Ruhr region, offering playing opportunities for U12 players and supporting local charitable causes.
