German youth project envisions urban futures for 2051

Students and children in German towns are using art and technology to visualize urban development for the year 2051.

In Spremberg, children developed ideas for the future of their city, including concepts for flying vehicles, new buildings, and increased green spaces. These visions were transformed into images using artificial intelligence and are currently being exhibited at the town hall.

In Neutraubling, art students at the local gymnasium created an exhibition titled ‘NEW NEWTRAUBLING’. The project features diverse artistic and architectural visions ranging from utopian to dystopian, utilizing digital drawings, embroidered photographs, and mirror installations to explore how current actions influence the city's future as it approaches its centenary in 2051.
