German youth sports: JANO U16 football tournament and Berlin Esports Academy selection camp
At the Neuhäuser Egelseehalle, the newly formed JANO U16 football team held a three‑match test tournament on the hottest Sunday of the year. Facing SG Pforzheim/Eutingen 2 and SG H2Ku Herrenberg, JANO secured a 28‑20 win over Pforzheim/Eutingen, lost narrowly 18‑19 to Herrenberg, but overall qualified for the Regionalliga Baden‑Württemberg alongside the other clubs.
The Esports Academy Berlin conducted its selection camp at the XPERION arena on Alexanderplatz. Forty young players competing in Brawl Stars, League of Legends, Valorant and EA FC vied for 25 academy slots. The program included intensive in‑game sessions, coaching, mental‑health workshops and talks from guests such as Fatih “gob b” Dayik and representatives of FC Energie Cottbus.
