German zoos and theme parks offer varying senior discounts

Senior citizens in Germany face varying discount policies at theme parks and zoos, as operators set their own pricing without legal mandates.

Europa-Park provides senior rates for guests aged 60 and older, with day tickets ranging from 56.50 to 65 euros. The water park Rulantica also offers reduced pricing for seniors. In contrast, the Cologne Zoo introduced a new senior tariff on April 16, 2026, for visitors aged 63 and older, with a maximum price of 23 euros for a day ticket.

Other regional variations include the Allwetterzoo Münster, which offers discounted annual passes for seniors aged 65 and older. However, some institutions, such as Zoo Leipzig, do not provide any discounts for retirees, requiring them to pay full admission prices.
