European Union member states produced 34.4 billion litres of beer in 2025, according to data from Eurostat. This represents a slight 0.7% decrease compared to 2024, though production remains 2.2% higher than 2020 levels.
Germany remains the leading producer in the bloc, accounting for 21.6% of total production with 7.4 billion litres. Spain holds the second position, contributing 5.3 billion litres (15.5% of the EU total). Poland ranks third with 3.5 billion litres, followed by the Netherlands with 2.4 billion litres and France with 2.1 billion litres.
While standard alcoholic beverages (exceeding 0.5% alcohol) made up the vast majority of the volume at 32.3 billion litres, there is a notable trend toward non-alcoholic and low-alcohol variants. These accounted for 2.1 billion litres of the total output.
