Germany appoints Carsten Linnemann as Federal Minister of Health

Researchers have conducted a study investigating the impact of indoor living environments on the sleep, activity levels, and circadian rhythms of elderly individuals. The study analyzed how natural light exposure and the use of home light therapy lamps affect older adults, many of whom spend the majority of their day indoors.

In separate political developments in Germany, Chancellor Friedrich Merz has announced a cabinet reshuffle, appointing Carsten Linnemann as the new Federal Minister of Health. Linnemann stated he would approach the role with “humility and great respect.” Additionally, the SpiFa has called on the federal government to allow doctors to dispense medication in acute cases, suggesting a shift in responsibilities between pharmacies and medical practices.
