Germany Berlin polls show CDU ahead despite low approval for Mayor Wegner
A Civey poll commissioned by the Tagesspiegel found the CDU at 22 % of the vote in the upcoming 2026 Berlin election, ahead of the AfD at 18 %. At the same time, 76 % of Berliners said they were dissatisfied with Mayor Kai Wegner and 84 % rated the current black‑red coalition negatively.
A separate Insa survey of national parties recorded the Union (CDU/CSU) at 22 % and the SPD at 13 %, while the AfD remained the strongest force with 29 %. The Greens stayed at 14 %, the Left fell to 10 %, and the FDP and BSW each held 3 %, insufficient for parliamentary entry.
