Bundeswehr uses kebab packaging for recruitment campaign

The German military, Bundeswehr, has launched a unique recruitment campaign using kebab packaging to attract new personnel. The campaign features branded wraps equipped with QR codes that lead directly to career information for the military's medical service.

A spokesperson for the German Ministry of Defense stated that the initiative aims to reach not only young people deciding on their careers but also skilled workers and career changers. The strategy involves placing promotional materials in locations where potential candidates spend their daily lives, such as fast-food restaurants and train stations.

Restaurant owners participate voluntarily, receiving the branded packaging free of charge. This recruitment drive comes as Germany seeks to increase its military strength; the Bundeswehr reached 186,705 active members in late July, but aims to exceed 260,000 soldiers by 2035 to meet NATO capability targets.
