Germany clinches Alpine International Baseball Trophy in Austria

The inaugural Alpine International Baseball Trophy was held from May 23 to 25 in the Austrian towns of Dornbirn and Hard, Vorarlberg. Four national teams—Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Switzerland—competed in a round‑robin format.

Germany won all three of its games, posting a combined score of 34‑5 to claim the championship. Austria finished second after victories over Slovakia and Switzerland. Notable performances included Germany’s Jules Moser, who scored six runs and hit a home run, and Austria’s Moritz Riedmann, who recorded a double, a triple and a home run for the host nation. The tournament showcased local Austrian talent, with three Vorarlberg players—Jannik Rudigier, Marcel Theiner and Moritz Riedmann—making the Austrian national squad for the first time.
