Germany: AI adoption favored for simple tasks but rejected for finance

A Forsa survey commissioned by Visa reveals that while approximately two-thirds of Germans are open to using AI agents for simple tasks, significant skepticism remains regarding financial management. Specifically, 68 percent of respondents are reluctant to let algorithms manage insurance and financial products, and 86 percent are wary of using AI for investments.

Despite these reservations about AI in finance, trust in digital payment methods is increasing. About 55 percent of Germans now consider smartphone payments at checkouts to be secure, a six-percentage-point increase from two years ago. Most mobile payment users report feeling secure during transactions and regularly monitor their accounts to prevent fraud.
