Germany defeats Colombia 6-1 in Premier12 baseball qualifier

The German men's national baseball team secured a significant 6-1 victory against Colombia in the WBSC Premier12 Qualifier in Barcelona. This win keeps Germany's chances alive for a first-time qualification for the 2027 Premier12 tournament.

Starting pitcher Christian Pedrol delivered a complete game, allowing only two hits and recording ten strikeouts over 126 pitches. Offensively, William Germaine led the team with five runs batted in, including a decisive three-run home run in the seventh inning.

Ahead of the qualifier, European nations engaged in various warm-up series. Germany swept a three-game series against Czechia, while Spain won three out of four friendly games against France. Italy completed a training camp in the Dominican Republic before arriving in Barcelona.
