Germany delivers INS Drakon submarine to Israel

The Israeli Navy has taken delivery of the INS Drakon from the German company TKMS in Kiel. The vessel is the final representative of the Dolphin II generation and is approximately 73 meters long with a displacement of about 2,400 tons.

As the largest submarine built in Germany since World War II, the INS Drakon features an air-independent propulsion (AIP) system based on fuel cells. This technology allows the vessel to operate submerged for extended periods without needing to surface or use a snorkel, making it highly effective for long-range patrols.
