Germany discusses administrative reform and bureaucracy reduction

Discussions regarding administrative reform and the modernization of public services are taking place across Germany. In Memmingen, approximately 70 experts from federal, state, and local levels are participating in the seventh ‘Forum for the State of Tomorrow’. Organized by the Re:Form alliance, the forum utilizes ten working groups to address topics such as digital sovereignty, personnel development, municipal finances, and crisis management. The goal is to improve cooperation between different levels of government and create more efficient administrative processes.

In Wolfenbüttel, political and business representatives from the CDU and the Mittelstands- und Wirtschaftsunion (MIT) met to discuss reducing bureaucracy and increasing decision-making freedom for municipalities. Participants, including local business leaders, emphasized the need for faster administrative processes and greater local responsibility. Discussions focused on utilizing economic expertise to identify unnecessary complexities in municipal administration and the importance of advancing digitalization to support local governance.
