Germany EV charging infrastructure faces regional delays

Electric vehicle charging infrastructure projects in Germany are facing delays due to contractual negotiations and technical installation issues.

In Espenau, the Rewe Group is currently negotiating a contract with the landowner to establish a high-speed charging station featuring hyper-chargers. While the company expressed optimism that an agreement would be reached soon, construction planning cannot begin until the contract is finalized. The project requires coordination between the landowner, the market operator, and the energy provider.

In Peiting, an Eon charging park project has remained inactive for over a year despite construction being completed. The facility, intended to provide up to 400 kW of power, has been delayed by issues with the transformer station and complex drilling required for underground lines. Eon expressed regret over the continued delay, noting that the current situation does not meet their operational standards.
