C.H. Robinson launches AI system to continuously optimise global supply chains

C.H. Robinson has unveiled a closed‑loop AI platform that both monitors and improves the performance of a shipper’s worldwide supply chain. The core component, called the “Lean AI Engineer”, can analyse an entire logistics network in 25‑30 minutes and automatically identify optimisation opportunities, replacing traditional assessments that can take up to four weeks.

The Engineer works together with the “Lean AI Planner”, a fleet of hundreds of interconnected AI agents that execute routing, scheduling and exception handling in real time. The system handles about 92 % of the company’s 4PL shipments autonomously across road, sea, air and rail, and continuously feeds new data back to the Engineer for further refinement. According to C.H. Robinson, the technology embeds the expertise of its logistics specialists into the AI, ensuring consistent, premium‑level service regardless of time zone or shipment volume.

The solution is being offered to all Managed‑Solutions customers and is positioned as the first AI that can both control and continuously evaluate a global supply chain in production.
