Germany forced to wear black kit after UEFA bans retro green jersey
UEFA has banned the German national football team from wearing a special green retro kit during their Nations League match against the Netherlands at the Johan Cruyff ArenA. The kit, designed to honor Germany's 1990 World Cup victory, was rejected because it failed to comply with UEFA kit regulations. Specific issues included insufficient space on the sleeves for the mandatory Nations League logo and the absence of the shirt number on the chest.
As a result, Germany will wear an all-black kit for the match. This black kit also serves a broader purpose as the final Adidas uniform for the German Football Association (DFB) before the federation transitions to Nike in 2027. The long-standing partnership between Adidas and the DFB, which began in 1954, will conclude after the upcoming matches in November.
