Germany fuel prices see only minimal weekly decline

Fuel prices in Germany have seen only a marginal decrease over the past week. According to an evaluation by the ADAC, the average price for Super E10 is currently 2.155 euros per liter, a reduction of just 0.7 cents compared to the previous week. Diesel prices have also seen a minimal decline of 0.5 cents, averaging 2.248 euros per liter.

The ADAC argues that these price drops are insufficient given the current market conditions. The organization points to stable Brent crude oil prices at approximately 89 US dollars per barrel and a stronger Euro against the US Dollar as factors that should have led to more significant reductions at the pump. For comparison, two weeks ago, Super E10 was roughly 3 cents cheaper and diesel was about 5 cents cheaper than current levels, despite less favorable exchange rates at that time.

To minimize costs, the ADAC recommends that drivers refuel shortly before 12:00 PM, when prices are typically at their lowest for the day. Additionally, the club suggests using comparison apps and noting that independent gas stations are often more affordable than branded ones.
