Germany gears up with public viewings and fan festivals for the 2026 World Cup

Scottish, Mexican and Argentine supporters have turned cities such as Boston, Dallas and other Texas venues into lively fan zones for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. In Boston, Scottish fans have even prompted a city‑partnership proposal with Glasgow, while Mexican fans decorate Texas streets and Argentine fans staged a spontaneous music‑filled party in Dallas’s Klyde Warren Park.

Across Germany, municipalities in the southwest and around the Bodensee are preparing large‑scale public‑viewing sites. The federal government has granted a temporary noise‑protection exemption for the period 20 May – 31 July 2026, allowing games to be shown outdoors after 22:00. Venues such as Bad Säckingen’s Huber‑Arena, Friedrichshafen’s outdoor screens and Konstanz’s lakeside locations will host thousands of fans, complemented by local festivals, food trucks and live music.
