Germany is hosting the ‘Tag des offenen Denkmals’ (Open Monument Day) on Sunday, September 13, 2026. • Mecklenburg-Vorpommern: Approximately 260 buildings, including churches, castles, and a restored historic station in Lübstorf. • Saxony: Nearly 700 objects, including the Alte Wasserkunst in Bautzen. • Berlin: Access to industrial heritage sites like the AEG Turbine Hall and the Schöneberg Gasometer. • Bremen: 65 sites including the main station and industrial buildings. • Karlsruhe: 122 monuments, featuring tours of the main station bunker and sites related to architect Friedrich Weinbrenner. • Bavaria: Over 1,000 offerings, with Bamberg serving as a central hub.

Activities range from guided tours of industrial complexes and medieval castles to exhibitions in local museums and workshops. Many sites offer free admission, providing rare access to buildings that are typically closed to the public due to private ownership or ongoing restoration.
