Germany hosts national forum on the future of rural areas
Federal Minister for Food and Agriculture, Alois Rainer, has opened the Future Forum for Rural Areas in Germany. The event, organized by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMLEH) during the Green Week, brings together over 2,000 participants from municipalities, associations, civil society, science, and industry.
The forum focuses on the theme ‘Land: Space for the Future,’ addressing critical issues such as land use, the development of residential and working spaces, and the strengthening of regional value creation. Discussions aim to find sustainable solutions for rural areas facing land scarcity and significant transformation processes. The event includes 31 specialized forums and a ‘Market of Opportunities’ to present best practices and concrete solutions to improve quality of life and regional economic strength.
