Germany indicts seven suspects in alleged Hamas terror plot

The German federal prosecutor’s office has indicted seven individuals for allegedly securing weapons for Hamas. The indictment claims the group’s military wing, the Qassam Brigades, had begun establishing weapons depots across Europe.

Prosecutors allege the suspects were part of a plot to carry out a concrete assassination in Germany or Austria by July 2025. The intended targets included representatives of Israel, individuals of the Jewish faith, or those with pro-Israel views. The planned attacks were timed to coincide with the second anniversary of the October 7 massacre.

The suspects, who were arrested between October 2025 and May 2026, include nationals from Germany, Denmark, and Bulgaria, as well as individuals born in Lebanon.
