Germany IT salary report shows high demand for cybersecurity experts

A salary report from recruitment agency Michael Page reveals significant pay disparities within the German IT sector for 2027. The analysis indicates that demand remains stable, but the market is shifting toward senior roles, architects, and specialists capable of managing complex system integrations amidst industry-wide transformation and efficiency pressures.

Cybersecurity, cloud, and data roles are seeing the highest compensation. Information Security Officers lead the rankings with average annual salaries of €105,000, potentially reaching €130,000. Data Engineers follow with averages around €90,000, while Service Managers and Project Managers earn approximately €87,500 and €85,000, respectively. Notably, Data Scientists earn up to €90,000, which is lower than some common perceptions of AI-related roles.

At the lower end of the spectrum, support roles such as helpdesk, service desk, and rollout technicians earn between €36,000 and €50,000. Second-level administrators average around €51,000, while third-level support roles earn between €59,000 and €69,000.
