Germany Launches €0.059/kWh Tender for 2.13 GW Ground‑Mounted Solar

Germany’s Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) has opened a new tender for more than 2.13 GW of ground‑mounted photovoltaic projects. The auction sets a ceiling tariff of €0.059 per kilowatt‑hour, calculated as the average of the highest winning bids in the three previous rounds (July 2025 at €0.0626/kWh, December 2025 at €0.0530/kWh, March 2026 at €0.0510/kWh). Bids must be submitted by July 1 2026.

The 2026 tender volume totals 9.9 GW, divided equally across three auction rounds. Projects may be built on arable and grassland throughout Germany, but new installations on agricultural land will be excluded if the cumulative capacity commissioned since 1 January 2023 exceeds 80 GW; the existing capacity stands at 17.7 GW. Several provisions of the Solar Package I still require European Commission approval—if not granted by 30 June 2026, current rules remain, including a maximum bid size of 20 MW and the continuation of support rates for special projects. Bidders will not incur grid‑fee charges for capacity participation.
