Germany launches third rooftop solar PV tender of 2026

Germany’s federal network agency, Bundesnetzagentur, has launched its third rooftop solar PV tender of 2026. The tender aims to award 296.3MW of new rooftop solar capacity with a maximum bidding price set at €0.10/kWh.

This follows two previous rooftop tenders in February and June that were undersubscribed, awarding 155MW and 208.5MW respectively. In contrast, Germany’s utility-scale solar tenders have seen high demand, with the August tender receiving over 3GW of bids for 2.1GW of capacity. The government intends to launch a third utility-scale tender in December to help offset the shortfall in rooftop solar capacity.
