Germany marks reunification anniversary with events in Chile and Honduras

Commemorations for the 36th anniversary of German Reunification have taken place in both Chile and Honduras, highlighting historical and diplomatic ties.

In Concepción, Chile, the Instituciones Chileno Alemanas de Concepción (ICHAS) held a ceremony at the Colegio Alemán de Concepción. The event included an address by Consul Pablo Millán and a presentation by the Club Deportivo Alemán, which marked its 140th anniversary during the proceedings. The ceremony focused on the cultural and historical links between the German and Chilean communities.

In Honduras, German Ambassador Daniela Vogl marked the occasion by emphasizing shared values of freedom, unity, and democracy. Vogl noted that the relationship between Germany and Honduras extends beyond diplomacy to include close cooperation on climate change resilience and significant commercial exchange. She highlighted that Germany is a major importer of Honduran coffee and noted the presence of German companies like Novem and Tönnjes, which contribute to local employment.
