Germany men's eight faces intense rowing World Championship schedule
The German men's eight rowing team faces a demanding schedule at the World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam. Due to a large field of 13 boats—the largest in 15 years—the competition format includes semifinals, resulting in three races within a 24-hour period.
To manage the intense workload, the team has implemented a strict regimen focusing on recovery and nutrition. This includes targeting over eight hours of sleep at night, utilizing carbohydrate snacks between races, and testing power naps during the short three-hour window between the semifinals and the final. Stroke Frederik Breuer noted that the team has been simulating these conditions to prepare for the physical and mental challenges of the weekend.
