Residential energy and construction updates in Germany and Switzerland
Various initiatives and technical updates are targeting residential energy efficiency and construction planning in Germany and Switzerland. In Germany, energy advisors in Rhineland-Palatinate are offering free assessments for homeowners to determine the economic viability of exterior wall insulation. Additionally, the municipality of Pullach is conducting the “Energiekarawane” campaign, providing on-site, neutral energy consultations to help residents make modernization decisions and access subsidies.
Technical requirements are also shifting. Energy advisors in Germany must transition to version 2.7.x of the official individual renovation roadmap (iSFP) printing application by December 1, 2026, following mandates from BAFA and the dena-Gebäudeforum.
In Switzerland, the “Bauen Wohnen Energie” exhibition is scheduled for November 2026 in Bern. The event aims to provide expertise and solutions for homeowners regarding energy efficiency, photovoltaics, heat pumps, and interior design.
