Germany organ donation: Family reports daughter died waiting for heart transplant

The parents of 17-year-old Mara, Carola and Markus Weber, have shared the story of their daughter's death, attributing it to the long wait times for an organ transplant in Germany.

Mara, who was born prematurely and dealt with various health challenges including muscle weakness and visual impairment, was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy in 2022. Her parents state that she passed away because she could not secure a donor heart in time.
