Germany political reform debated at Presseclub München
At a discussion hosted by the Association of European Journalists at the Presseclub München, participants debated the future of political decision-making in Germany. The event, titled ‘Does Germany Need a New Form of Governing?’, featured entrepreneur and author Peter H. Grassmann, who presented themes from his book ‘Demokratie neu denken’ (Rethinking Democracy).
Grassmann criticized the perceived inability of traditional coalition governments to act effectively amidst increasing political fragmentation. He proposed a model based on flexible, project-oriented majorities designed to address specific issues more efficiently and overcome ideological deadlocks. While some participants viewed the approach as a way to foster innovation and dynamism, others raised concerns regarding potential risks to political reliability and the weakening of clear accountability structures.
