Germany promotes international exchange and youth mobility programs

Various initiatives in Germany are promoting international exchange and mobility opportunities for young adults.

Cultural Vistas gGmbH is seeking host families, individuals, or shared apartments in Germany to accommodate American scholars participating in the 43rd Parliamentary Patenschafts-Programm (PPP). These scholars, aged 18 to 24, will reside in Germany from October 2026 to June 2027. The program, established by the German Bundestag and the US Congress, aims to foster intercultural exchange and strengthen German-American relations. An online information session is scheduled for May 27, 2026.

In Gera, the city is hosting an information event on September 8, 2026, to assist young people in exploring options for spending time abroad after school. The session will cover topics such as voluntary services, internships, au-pair programs, and work-and-travel opportunities. The event aims to provide guidance on financing, program selection, and requirements, specifically targeting those who may face financial barriers to international mobility.
