Germany ranks third worldwide in millionaire count as global wealth spikes

The 2025 World Wealth Report shows a record increase in high‑net‑worth individuals. Worldwide, 25.3 million people hold investable assets of at least US$1 million, up by almost two million from the previous year. Germany now has roughly 1.78 million such individuals, a rise of 11.1 % and a total wealth of about US$7.1 trillion, positioning the country third after the United States (8.7 million) and Japan (second with a 436 000 increase). China follows in fourth place with an additional 154 000 millionaires. The four leading nations together account for 65.7 % of all global millionaires. Global wealth grew 8.7 % to a record US$98.3 trillion, driven by strong equity markets and falling inflation.
