Germany recalls Camembert cheese and chocolate sprinkles over bacterial contamination

A Munich‑based producer, Arianit Rexhepi & Voglush Rexhepi GbR, has recalled its raw‑milk Camembert de Normandie AOP after tests found toxin‑producing STEC E. coli. The cheese was sold only on weekly markets in several Bavarian towns between mid‑April and early May 2026. Consumers are advised not to eat the product and can return it for a refund without a receipt.

Separately, the Drageefabrik Stolze GmbH has withdrawn its Belbake chocolate sprinkles from Lidl stores after Salmonella was detected in the batch. The product was available in Lidl outlets across multiple German states. As with the cheese, shoppers are urged not to consume the sprinkles and may return them for a full refund without a receipt. Both recalls warn of possible gastrointestinal illness, especially for vulnerable groups such as children, pregnant women, the elderly and immunocompromised individuals.
