Germany recalls Fleischwaren Wulff sausages over EHEC contamination

German authorities in the Getingen district and the national food‑safety platform issued an urgent warning to stop consumption of raw sausages produced by Fleischwaren Wulff after tests found the presence of shiga‑toxin‑producing E. coli (STEC/EHEC). The contaminated batches were sold in Rewe supermarkets across most German states, including North Rhine‑Westphalia, Hesse, Lower Saxony, Bavaria, Baden‑Württemberg, Hamburg and Berlin.

The recalled items include pork‑ham roll sausages, French beer sausages, assorted beer sausages, chicken parizer, and other variants listed by serial number. The bacteria can cause severe gastrointestinal symptoms and, in vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly and immunocompromised, may lead to acute kidney failure requiring hospital treatment.
