Germany Recalls Grated Almonds Over Salmonella Risk

A food safety recall has been issued for the 200‑gram "Back Mit – geriebene Mandeln" product (charge L26166V571, best before June 2027) after Salmonella contamination could not be ruled out. The recall, affecting eleven German states, was announced by the distributor IMGRO GmbH and applies to all units sold through Globus Markthallen stores. Consumers are advised not to consume the product and to return it to any Globus outlet for a refund, even without a purchase receipt.

Salmonella can cause diarrhoea, abdominal pain, vomiting and mild fever, with severe outcomes possible for infants, young children, seniors and immunocompromised individuals. Health authorities recommend increased fluid intake and medical consultation if symptoms develop.
