Germany releases free market overview of 35 digital tools for municipal heat transition

A new, free market overview of digital tools for the municipal heat transition has been published in Germany. The 20‑page PDF lists 35 software solutions across six categories, offering municipalities, planning offices and energy utilities a clearer view of options for heat planning, renewable‑energy network design and smart network operation.

The overview, compiled by energy‑policy blogger and specialist Andreas Kühl, groups tools into complete packages, municipal heat planning, transformation planning and feasibility studies, network planning, optimized network operation and miscellaneous tools such as data platforms, renovation checks and heat‑storage planning. It is intended to aid the comparison of scenarios and support the implementation of renewable heat networks. The document can be downloaded for free from energynet.de.
