Germany retains men's FIH Hockey World Cup title

Germany has retained its FIH Hockey World Cup men's title after defeating Spain 1-0 in the final held in Wavre, Belgium. This victory marks the fourth World Cup title for the German men and makes them the first nation in men's hockey history to successfully defend a world title twice, following their previous successes in 2002, 2006, and 2023.

Led by head coach André Henning, the German team secured the win with a decisive second-half goal. In the bronze-medal match, Argentina defeated co-hosts the Netherlands 2-1. This result contributed to a highly successful tournament for Argentina, which also saw their women's team win the World Cup title a day prior.

The tournament concluded with mixed results for the co-hosts; while the Netherlands women finished as runners-up, the men's team finished fourth, and Belgium finished seventh in the men's competition.
