Series of thefts, assaults and traffic accidents reported by German police in July 2026

Police agencies across Germany reported a wave of unrelated incidents on July 12‑13 2026. In Kölleda (Thuringia) unidentified intruders forced entry into a multi‑family house basement, broke two cellar compartments and fled without profit, causing about €200 in damage. A copper‑cable theft from a construction site in Buxtehude (Lower Saxony) resulted in the loss of roughly 150 m of cable and an estimated €1,500 loss. In Erfurt, a 31‑year‑old man was assaulted after a dispute in a fitness studio, leading to an investigation for dangerous bodily injury. Several vehicle‑damage cases were logged in Schweinfurt, where a VW Golf’s ornamental trim was stolen (≈€1,000 loss) and a Volvo V60 suffered about €2,000 damage. On the A44 near Unna, a multi‑vehicle collision injured three people and caused a temporary road closure. A break‑in at an empty commercial premises in Neuburg damaged a window (≈€400) but yielded no theft. In Remscheid, an 18‑year‑old was assaulted during an attempted robbery at a bus stop. Separate incidents included a gas‑grill fire in Berghofen (≈€10,000 damage), an ATM explosion in Borken‑Rhedebrügge that destroyed the machine without injuries, and a masked robbery of a Berlin Späti’s ATM (no cash taken). Police continue investigations and request witnesses for the various assaults, thefts and accidents.
