Unlicensed driver causes multi‑vehicle crash on L135 near Dorfhagen, Germany

A 41‑year‑old driver without a licence, driving an unregistered and uninsured car with falsified plates, smashed into several stopped vehicles on the L135 near Dorfhagen in the Cuxhaven district on Tuesday morning. The collision sent the cars into oncoming traffic, resulting in a chain‑reaction crash. The 41‑year‑old driver was seriously injured and air‑lifted to hospital. A 28‑year‑old man and a 28‑year‑old woman were also heavily injured and taken to hospitals. A 67‑year‑old woman, who was behind the vehicles, escaped unharmed. The crash forced a several‑hour road closure while police investigated the illegal vehicle and driver.
