Germany strengthens emergency services and disaster protection

Germany is enhancing its emergency response and disaster protection capabilities through new vehicle acquisitions in different regions.

In Rostock, Senator Dr. Chris von Wrycz Rekowski oversaw the handover of a modern emergency doctor vehicle and two new patient transport vehicles. These vehicles, provided to the Office for Fire Protection/Rescue Services and Disaster Control as well as Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e. V. and Ruhmedic GmbH, are equipped with advanced medical technology to improve emergency care and patient transport efficiency.

In North Rhine-Westphalia, the federal government is providing five new CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear) reconnaissance vehicles for civil and disaster protection. One of these specialized vehicles will be stationed with the Iserlohn fire department to serve the Märkischer Kreis. The vehicle is designed to detect airborne chemicals and radioactive contamination, collect samples, and automatically transmit measurement data to command centers, even when operating on damaged infrastructure.
