Germany stress levels rise according to TK Stress Report 2025

The 2025 Stress Report by Techniker Krankenkasse (TK) indicates rising stress levels in Germany. Approximately two-thirds of the population report feeling frequently or sometimes stressed in their daily or professional lives, an increase from 57 percent in 2013.

Key drivers of this stress include high self-imposed demands, pressures from school, studies, or work, and various political and social issues. The report emphasizes the necessity of intentional phases of relaxation and regeneration to balance periods of tension.

Common methods for managing stress include spending time in nature (83 percent) and engaging in hobbies or social interactions (78 percent). Additionally, 73 percent of respondents find relief through music or playing instruments. Christina Plate of Sound Spirit notes that sound therapy, such as using singing bowls, can help individuals shift their focus away from tasks and toward sensory perception to achieve calm.
