Germany Tackles AI-Driven Deepfakes and Political Communication at Frankfurt Forum

Bavarian MP Ludwig Hartmann visited Neuramancer AI Solutions in Munich, where the start‑up demonstrated technology for detecting AI‑generated deepfakes. Hartmann highlighted the threat these falsified images, videos and audio pose to democratic discourse and called for clear political rules on artificial intelligence, transparency obligations and support for trustworthy tools.

He also toured child‑protection start‑up HELMIT, which uses on‑device AI to identify harmful online content for minors without compromising privacy. The visit underscored calls for stronger safeguards for children on digital platforms.

In parallel, the European Association of Political Consultants convened a two‑day conference in Frankfurt on 2‑3 October. Hosted at the European Central Bank and the historic Paulskirche, the event gathered experts from Germany, the United States, Austria, Romania, Italy and elsewhere to discuss how AI and new technologies reshape political strategy, election campaigning and public affairs. Organisers emphasized the need for coordinated European responses to disinformation and the regulation of emerging tech.
