Germany to launch digital medication plan in October 2026

Germany is expanding its digital healthcare infrastructure with the introduction of a digital medication plan within the electronic patient record (ePA) system, scheduled to launch in October 2026.

The initiative aims to improve drug safety by providing a unified overview of prescribed medications. This is intended to reduce the risk of adverse drug interactions and errors, particularly for patients managing multiple prescriptions. By allowing doctors, specialists, and pharmacies to access the same real-time data, the system seeks to streamline coordination and prevent duplicate prescriptions.
