Germany to raise statutory pension by 4.24% in July 2026
Effective 1 July 2026 Germany’s statutory pension will increase by 4.24 percent. The pension value per entitlement point rises from €40.79 to €42.52, lifting a standard pension of 45 points from €1,835.55 to €1,913.40 gross per month – a gross gain of €77.85. After accounting for higher health‑ and nursing‑care insurance contributions, the net increase is estimated at about €68 per month, or roughly €819 annually. The Sozialverband Deutschland (SoVD) stresses that many retirees will feel only a limited relief because costs for energy, housing, food and services remain high and contributions keep rising. Inflation in 2025 averaged 2.2 percent, but price growth for services and health care was considerably stronger, further eroding the purchasing power of the pension boost.
