Germany: Two arrested for S-Bahn graffiti vandalism
Two Spanish nationals, aged 29 and 31, were arrested by the Federal Police following an act of vandalism in Petershausen. On the night of October 10, three men used graffiti to spray approximately 40 square meters of an S-Bahn train parked in a siding.
The incident caused an estimated 2,600 euros in property damage and led to significant disruptions in rail traffic. The track between Paindorf and Petershausen had to be closed multiple times, affecting 27 trains and resulting in a total delay of 1,166 minutes.
A third suspect fled the scene, and police are continuing investigations to identify him. The two detained individuals were released after undergoing forensic processing, though they were required to pay a security deposit as they do not have a permanent residence in Germany.
