Germany U19 football team faces Finland in European Championship qualifier

The German U19 tackle national football team is set to face Finland on September 19, 2026, at the Jahnstadion in Langenfeld. A victory in this match would secure Germany's qualification for the medal round of the 2027 IFAF U19 European Championship.

Following a dominant 79:6 win against Hungary in April, the squad has undergone significant changes. Head Coach Peter Daletzki noted that approximately one-quarter of the team has been replaced due to players moving to the United States for high school opportunities or due to injuries. Despite this turnover, Daletzki expressed confidence in the squad, citing a core of experienced players who have been with the national team for two to three years to help integrate the new members.
