German U21 national team faces Georgia in Bielefeld for EM qualification

The German U21 national team faces Georgia in Bielefeld for their final European Championship qualifying match. As of Monday morning, 17,166 tickets had been sold, marking the largest home crowd for the team in 20 years.

Coach Antonio Di Salvo stated that the high attendance serves as motivation rather than pressure. A victory would secure first place in Group F, granting the team a direct ticket to the European Championship finals in Albania and Serbia. Currently, Germany sits at the top of the group, level on points with Greece, who is competing in Northern Ireland simultaneously.

While Germany has already secured a place in the playoffs, winning the group would allow them to avoid the playoff round entirely. Di Salvo warned that despite Georgia's current fourth-place standing in the group, they remain a challenging opponent following a 2-0 away win against Germany in the first leg.
