Germany wage data shows physiotherapy salary growth and regional income gaps

New data from the Bundesagentur für Arbeit regarding the 2025 wage atlas indicates that outpatient physiotherapy practices have significantly passed on statutory health insurance (GKV) price increases to their employees. While GKV remunerations rose by 4.01 percent in January 2025, salaries for employees in outpatient physiotherapy practices increased by 6.44 percent, according to the agency. The BGW also reported a salary increase of 6.23 percent.

In a separate analysis of wage data for the Viersen district, the DGB reported that the median monthly gross income for full-time employees was 3,817 euros, which is 400 euros lower than the German national average of 4,217 euros. The report highlights wage disparities based on gender, nationality, and qualification, noting that employees without German citizenship earned a median of 3,028 euros, roughly 26 percent below the national average.
